Overview
TinyMCE 8.10.1 was released for TinyMCE Enterprise and Tiny Cloud on Wednesday, October 28th, 2026. These release notes provide an overview of the changes for TinyMCE 8.10.1, including:
Accompanying Premium plugin changes
The following premium plugin updates were released alongside TinyMCE 8.10.1.
Spell Checker
The TinyMCE 8.10.1 release includes an accompanying release of the Spell Checker premium plugin.
Spell Checker includes the following fix.
Ignored words are no longer incorrectly re-checked when a space is typed at the end
Previously, when a user selected Ignore on a misspelled word and then typed a space at the end of that word, the Spell Checker plugin checked the word again and marked it as misspelled.
In TinyMCE 8.10.1, the Spell Checker plugin keeps an ignored word ignored when a user types a space at the end of it. The plugin no longer marks the word as misspelled.
For information on the Spell Checker plugin, see: Spell Checker.
TinyMCE AI
The TinyMCE 8.10.1 release includes an accompanying release of the TinyMCE AI premium plugin.
TinyMCE AI includes the following fixes.
AI edits to nested elements were not always applied correctly and could cause duplicated content
Previously, when an AI response changed content inside nested elements, such as content inside a div, a list, or a table, the TinyMCE AI plugin did not always apply the change correctly. For example, when Chat modified the whole document, the first element of the document could appear twice. After a user accepted the AI response, the document contained duplicated or misplaced content that the user had to correct manually.
In TinyMCE 8.10.1, the TinyMCE AI plugin applies each change to nested content as an update to the top-level block that contains it. The plugin now applies AI changes to nested content as expected, without duplicating content.
When the AI changed the same block more than once in a single response, the AI preview showed the later change compared against the earlier one instead of the original content
Previously, when the AI service changed the same block more than once in a single Chat response, the TinyMCE AI plugin compared the later change against the earlier AI version of the block instead of the original content. Diff mode and Preview showed wording from the earlier AI version as removed or unchanged text. When a change also converted the block to a different type, such as a paragraph to a heading, the original block appeared as deleted twice. The changes recorded in the Chat sidebar could also list the same block more than once. The highlighted differences did not match what the AI service had changed, so users found it harder to review the suggestions before applying them.
In TinyMCE 8.10.1, the TinyMCE AI plugin compares every change to a block against the original content, regardless of how many times the AI service changes that block in a response. The preview shows one change for each block, from the original content to the final version, and the Chat sidebar records each block once.

Bug fixes
TinyMCE 8.10.1 also includes the following bug fix:
The editor.insertContent API removed inline formatting when the selection covered the entire block content and the content was wrapped in an inline format element
Previously, when the selection covered all of the content in a block and an inline format element wrapped that content, the editor.insertContent() API removed the formatting. For example, selecting all of the text in
I am bold
and inserting new text using the API produced plain text instead of bold.
In TinyMCE 8.10.1, the editor.insertContent() API preserves the inline formatting that wraps the whole selection.
