Committed to supporting our
open source community
Sustainable license types promote continued growth
By licensing under GPL2+, we can offer clearer delineation between commercial and open source use.
Fostering projects with an open source spirit
It’s critical that we continue to support the accessibility open source provides for true non-commercial projects.
Flexible options for non-commercial projects
The TinyMCE for Open Source Program provides a licensing solution for projects that need a more permissive license type (MIT, Apache, etc.).
Program qualifications
To qualify for the TinyMCE for Open Source Program, your project must meet the following criteria:
Project is open source
Project is under a license that is incompatible with GPL2+
Project has revenue of less than $2M per year and/or total venture capital funding of less than $2M
Project’s main source of funding does not come from an organization whose revenue is over $2M per year
Please note, a custom license can be used for TinyMCE 7 open source in the FOSS project only. If extracted, the license reverts to GPL2+.
