TinyMCE FAQs

What is an "editor load" when talking about Tiny Cloud Usage?

An editor load occurs each time TinyMCE is initialized in your application. For example, if 100 users load TinyMCE 10 times each, there were 1,000 editor loads. This is recorded with a request to our server when the "init" function is called in TinyMCE. More details in this blog post

How many "loads" do I need?
This depends on your use. However, all of our plans have been developed to take in the average editor load number.
How do I estimate how many "loads" I need?
Take the number of times you imagine a developer, or user, will load your editor on a page in a normal month and this is how many editor loads you will need.
What’s included in TinyMCE’s free plan?
As part of TinyMCE’s free Cloud Plan, you have access to a 14-day free trial of all the premium TinyMCE features. After the trial, you’ll continue to have access to the Core TinyMCE Editor for free, with attribution.
What is a OEM or SaaS?

OEM or SaaS providers can get access to custom pricing models focused on giving predictability, scalability, and can be customized to fit each use case. Please contact our sales team here to discuss your scenario.

What happens if I go over the limits?
We understand that sometimes usage fluctuates, that is why we do not strictly enforce editor load usage if you occasionally exceed your plan entitlements. However, if you are consistently over your editor usage entitlements we will contact you to upgrade your account. You will be able to access current usage, as well as historical usage directly in your account.
Can I change my plan?

Yes, it’s easy to upgrade your online plan.

Updating your plan takes less than 2 minutes. Here’s how:

1. Log into your Tiny Account.
2. Select ‘Edit subscriptions’ half-way down the page.
3. Select the relevant plan.
4. Select either a ‘monthly’ or ‘annual’ subscription - annual subscriptions get 2 months free.
5. Complete the checkout process.

If you require any assistance in upgrading your account, please get in touch with our support team, at https://support.tiny.cloud/hc/en-us/requests/new

Can I purchase multiple plans?
No. You are unable to purchase multiple plans for TinyMCE. If you require additional usage, or additional domains please get in contact with our sales team.
How will you notify me if I go over my editor loads?
You are able to track and view your editor load usage at any time through your account. If you do consistently go over your editor load allotment under your plan, our team will reach out and help organise shifting you to a plan that works for your needs.
How is the price calculated?
Cloud pricing is based on the maximum number of editor loads during a month.
Can I cancel my subscription at anytime?
Yes, you are able to cancel your subscription at any time during the term of your agreement. However, the cancellation will only take effect at the end of your subscription term and at that point, you will no longer be charged.
How is usage tracked?
Editor loads are tracked on a calendar month basis. You will be able to access your current usage, as well as historical usage, directly in your account.
What are the detailed terms?

The Cloud Services Subscription Agreement and the Self-Hosted Software License Agreement explain rights, responsibilities, and support levels. For open source users, the terms of the MIT license apply. If you have any queries, please contact us.

What if my usage fluctuates?
In general, your plan should cover your maximum usage of the TinyMCE editor. Contact the sales team to discuss your needs if your usage fluctuates significantly.
What is a Collaborative Session?
A collaborative session is started when more than one person is actively present within the same document, at the same time. Further collaborative sessions are triggered by each subsequent person entering the document in a collaborative fashion.
